The Gold Coast has always been an entertainment playground famous for its calibre of events and, luckily for us, the end of 2018 (and the start of 2019) is no exception.
If you’re looking for an epic end and start to the year, make sure you block out your calendar and head to these 9 golden events.
1. World Parachuting Championships
When: 7-13 October 2018
The world’s elite parachutists from over 45 countries will colour the Gold Coast sky as they compete for the World Parachuting Championships. With over seven different divisions, there are lots of prizes up for grabs. And, we’re most looking forward to the free fall and formation jumps.
2. Shimano Enduro Tour Coast
When: 14 October 2018
This year, the booming discipline of Enduro Mountain Biking will take to the trails right in Nerang on the Gold Coast.
Over 300 riders, of all levels will be competing to challenge themselves, whilst others will be chasing coveted qualifying points in the Enduro World Series, the very top tier of Enduro.
3. Gold Coast World Masters
When: 14-20 October 2018
The Gold Coast World Masters has earned a reputation as Australia’s best tournament for club golfers and for good reason.
Now in its 23rd year, this event gives everyday golfers the experience of competing in a major professional tournament so putt to it!
4. Supercars Vodafone Gold Coast 600
When: 19-21 October 2018
Walk the Surfers Paradise street track at the Supercars Vodafone Gold Coast 600, find your favourite part of the track and settle in to watch the V8 Supercars, Hot Wheel Utes and Super Trucks do what they do best.
The high-octane atmosphere continues off track with meet-and-greets, live music and helicopter tours over the track.
5. Australian Hockey League Finals
When: 25-28 October 2018
See the best players in action at the Australian Hockey League Finals.
The premier senior national competition involving representative teams from across the country to identify talent for the Australian national junior and senior squads.
6. Gillette Australia v South Africa
When: 17 November 2018
Alright cricket fans, this one’s for you!
Head to the Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast to be amongst the electric crowd of fans cheering as Australia V South Africa in the Gillette T20.
And, in true cricket attire, come dressed in your best costume and flaunt your frock.
7. Pan Pacific Masters Games
When: 2-11 November 2018
Attention 30+ athletes! Assemble your crew and register to participate in the biggest biennial celebration of masters sports. Join over 13,000 global participants and compete in more than 40 sports. And, the best part is there are no qualifying standards or times required to enter. Just show up and have fun.
And, while you might be a focussed competitor during the day, at night you’ll be a flourishing socialite grooving on the dance floor.
8. Australian PGA Championship
When: 29 November-2 December 2018
Competing for the Joe Kirkwood Cup, Australian and International players will tee off for the Australian PGA Championship at one of the most acclaimed courses in Australia at the RACV Royal Pines Resort.
Featuring live entertainment, food and music across the tournament, including the MyGolf Kids Day, fans will be delighted as they watch the world’s best golf players try and ace their way to a big payday.
9. Magic Millions Polo and Race Day
When: 6 January 2019 (Polo) 12 January 2019 (Raceday)
Don your best attire and giddy up at The Star Gold Coast Millions Raceday next year.
Starting with the flagship Yearling Inspections, the celebrations continue with Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo and then, to top it all off is the infamous race day.
