We recently stayed at the Freestyle Apartments whilst in Port Douglas for the GBR Marathon. Spent a lovely 5 nights at TRYP which is just around the corner from exciting nightlife, restaurants and bars. The rooms are quirky, have a nice ambience to them and our room on the fourth floor had a good view. Definitely ideal for young couples or friends looking for an exciting time in Brisbane.

Residing in a prime location along the Fitzroy River, the Empire Apartment Hotel in Rockhampton is one of the most luxurious accommodation options in the Capricorn Region. With 120 rooms, this riverfront hotel boasts the best views in town.

I have stayed at the Empire before and consider it to be the best place I stay at (I spend about 1/4 of my life away from home). It was great to come back with my wife and let her experience this great place in a spacious one bedroom apartment.

If you’re after a true tropical escape, then Lizard Island Resort is for you. Located on the Great Barrier Reef in Tropical North Queensland, the island has 24 pristine beaches to relax on, as well as snorkelling and diving sites to explore.

My family ( two adults, two teens and an 11 year old) stayed here for 6 days over New Year during our first ever trip to Australia. For all of us Lizard Island Resort was the standout highlight of our entire amazing trip. The island is a breathtaking place and in the words of one of the staff members ‘a place that touches your soul’.

Paradise on the Beach Resort, Palm Cove

Staying true to its name, Paradise on the Beach is just that, a piece of paradise right on the beach in Palm Cove.

It was great to return to Paradise on the Beach Resort at Palm Cove. We had a ground floor unit with the pool just outside our door. No worries with noise from other guests in the pool. Unit was very clean, bathroom clean. Great proximity to restaurants and to the swimming enclosure. A very pleasurable experience.
