Home is definitely where the heart is for Celeste Mitchell who grew up on the Sunshine Coast but has been a bit of a gypsy ever since. After years of writing about boy bands, puberty, dating, fashion and everything in between for some of Australia’s top magazines she now revels in ‘pimping’ Queensland out to the world.

Craig Tansley grew up in Polynesia and Byron Bay (and his mum lives on a boat sailing up and down the Queensland coast) so he never had a choice – spending time finding action and adventure in the sunshine is part of his DNA. Now based in Melbourne, Craig’s a full-time travel writer working for some of the country’s biggest publications and websites. He’s on the road at least half of the year – home’s just where his mail goes to.

A Bundy local who grew up with the turtles at Mon Repos, Em became a backpacking “gappy” and is now based in Brisbane as a resident TQ newshound. She’s a budding builder/Block enthusiast who loves nothing more than soaking up the sun on a Queensland beach, trying to outrun her bulldog Wayne and attempting to sail in the Whitsundays.

Born and bred in Brisbane, Hannah knows her way around the river city better than most. After being bitten by the travel bug early, Hannah ticked off a lifelong goal to eat her way around Italy and spent 12 months living and working in Milan. Today, she spends her time hunting down the best pizza and pasta in her own backyard and bores anyone who will listen about traditional Italian cooking. Buon Appetito!

Growing up in Tropical North Queensland, Hayley spent half her time on the family boat Lumi and the other half as a barefoot banshee child on a communal property in Cape Tribulation. Hayley wanted to be either an archaeologist or Bette Davis when she grew up. Turns out communications was more her thing.

Jess is a creative entrepreneur from Queensland, Australia. As well as making her eco-conscious, modern sterling silver jewellery under the brand Epheriell, she blogs daily about beautiful things and how to have a bountiful business on EpheriellDesigns.com.

A Queenslander born and bred, Jessica travelled much of the world before exploring the wonders of her own backyard. Swapping international long-hauls for propeller planes to Queensland’s Outback, she has seen more of this awesome state in her first three months at Tourism Queensland than most people do in their entire lives. While her colleagues think her hobby is weird and will probably send her to an early grave, Jess has made it her personal mission to sample a bowl of potato wedges in as many Queensland towns as possible.

Kara Williams is a longtime freelance travel writer based in the Colorado Rockies. While she loves exploring the mountains in her own backyard, far-flung beach resorts are favorite vacation destinations. Her travel articles have been published in the Denver Post, Ocean Home, Luxury Las Vegas, FamilyVacationCritic.com, Away.com and Fodors.com, to name a few outlets.
