6 things to do these summer school holidays on the Gold Coast
There’s plenty to do these school holidays on the Gold Coast but here are some special activities to add to your list.
1. Boredom buster
Get your kids off the computer these holidays with the Outside and Active Kids Holiday Program running between 5-9 January 2015 at Burleigh Heads National Park. They’ll participate in beach olympics, nature walks, sports, nature craft and treasure hunts!
2. White Christmas in Queensland
Experience a magical White Christmas at Movie World between 12-28 December. See new floats, live shows an awesome light show in snow-covered streets and go on your favourite rides.
3. 8 second-rule
Get those cowboy boots on for a day of live music, rodeo clowns, real cowboys, bucking bulls and kids rides complete with a mechanical bull. Giddee up to The Lonestar Tavern in Mermaid Waters for The Silver Spur Bullride Rodeo Series on 13 December. Yee haw!
See who the biggest daredevil is or who can complete the most courses at the Adventure Parc at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. There are heaps of exciting treetop ropes courses, wire challenges, flying foxes, suspended bridges and much more. Bring enclosed shoes and a sense of adventure!
5. Stories of the outback
Escape the crowds and walk among the treetops at Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk. The entire walk is 1.5km of forest floor trails and bridges through the upper points of the canopy – 30m above the creek and rainforest below.
6. Tree walker
Saddle up and prepare to be dazzled by Australian Outback Spectacular’s new show – High Country Legends. Watch legendary stories of Australian characters come to life, amazing animal stars, death-defying stunts, aerial performances and spooky ghosts.
