Thrills and spills of Australia’s first rodeo school [gallery]

In the ultimate school of hard knocks, Mt Isa played host to Australia’s first Rodeo School in the lead-up to the region’s main bull ridin’ event.

Boys and girls as young as thirteen swapped pens and paper for broncs and bruises in the rodeo capital of Australia.

They came from far and wide, some driving 1400-kilometres for the opportunity to learn the art of bronco, bull riding and playing the rodeo clown.

Check out all the action from the brave cowboys and girls who jumped in the saddle at the inaugural Mt Isa Rodeo School.

Would you put your body on the line at the Mt Isa Rodeo School?

After being bitten by the travel bug early, Hannah ticked off a lifelong goal to eat her way around Italy and spent 12 months living and working in Milan. Today, she spends her time hunting down the best pizza and pasta in her own backyard and bores anyone who will listen about traditional Italian cooking. Buon Appetito!
