The Gold Coast has always had its own brand of Miami meets Vegas glitz, and the remnants of iconic signage from the early days of beach holidaying in Queensland can still be seen from Southport to Coolangatta if you just look up.

Local photographer and art director Andrew Suggit set out on a three-year mission – taking almost 900 photos – to capture the (sometimes faded) beauty of the Gold Coast’s iconic buildings and landmarks with a clear focus on interesting typography and retro signage, as showcased in The Golden Sans Project.
