It may have a population of just over 3000, but the town of Proserpine in the Whitsundays was put on the world stage over the weekend as Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt touched down in their private jet, followed by 130 cast and crew, ready to start shooting scenes for Ange’s new film, Unbroken.
While they’re in region, it’s rumoured Brad and Ange will be making a luxury villa at qualia on Hamilton Island their second home. They also reportedly spent Christmas there with the entire Jolie-Pitt clan.
Since Ange will be busy on set in her role of director for the next few days, we thought we’d create a custom itinerary so Brad can play The Tourist and enjoy the Whitsundays’ best A-List experiences.
Hole in one
What’s a man to do while his partner is busy making movie magic? Brad’s been a keen golfer since his days at Kickapoo High School (true name!) and the only championship island golf course in Australia is ready and waiting for him on nearby Dent Island – accessed by a short helicopter ride from Hamilton Island.
Brad can have an Ocean’s Eleven moment aboard Papillon Luxury Yacht Charters. With bespoke sailing charters available he might discover his own private island or perhaps whisk Angelina away for an overnight getaway in between takes.

Heart to heart
Travelling with no kids in tow means a chance to reignite the passion. A scenic flight over heart reef with Air Whitsunday ought to do it! (They also specialise in wedding elopements.)
They could also take a cruise to Whitehaven Beach where Angie can rub her $250K engagement ring on the world’s finest silica sand, bringing it to the best possible sparkle.
We hear Brad loves his rum, so after a hard day’s filming, Ange could join him for the world’s best mojito* at Fish D’vine – a rum and seafood bar with some 400 different varieties of liquid gold lining the shelves. (*Self-imposed title by owner, Kev.)
To see how the world views them, Ange and Brad could pull up a bean bag and watch a movie in the moonlight on the 44-foot outdoor cinema screen at Daydream Island Resort & Spa.
If Brad and Ange decide to finally tie the knot while in the Whitsundays, there are more than a few options available – from island chapels on Hamilton Island and Daydream Island to the private five-acre waterfront estate at Villa Botanica, voted Australia’s most romantic venue by Australian Traveller magazine. They’re booked out for 2014 but we bet they’d make room for a Jolie-Pitt wedding!
What else do you think they should see and do while they’re here?
