Underwater classroom: Sea cucumbers [Video]

More closely related to a starfish than a vegetable, sea cucumbers are the ocean’s vacuum cleaners. Commonly seen with a little fish swimming in and out of its rear end, these spongy creatures graze the ocean floor feeding on algae and other waste material.

In this week’s Underwater Classroom we take a look at the ocean’s own recycling heroes. It’s a dirty job, but someone’s got to do it.
